TM : )
Today you will breathe, you will teach your kids, and you will be successful. How do I know this? Because I've been doing this for almost 9 years now and everyday I breathe. Everyday I teach my kids. And everyday as I look back over the years and compare it to today, I see the growth, the maturity, and the intelligence of my kids and I know that I am successful. You will be too.
TM : ) You are not alone. You are on a journey that is so new to you that it is scary. And it is scary. And it's hard work. But you're doing it. You are taking the time to teach your girls to be great at anything they want to be. Wow. You're amazing! Tell yourself that right now. Come on, I know it sounds silly and whoever is near you will be saying, "What are saying Mom?" But just do it. And if I was there, I'd make you shout it. So I guess it's a good thing I'm not right there because then everyone in your household will think us loony! : )
Have a wonderful weekend and to the other readers of AskTracy leave a nice little comment for Sandra, as she could use it. AskTracy readers are the BEST! Hugs to all of you. TM : ) Besides the State of the Union Address, this is also what's going on this week in our Nation. Wish me luck as I will be on the panel tonight for our local event. TM : ) This post is for those who are thinking about their options when educating their children. Sometimes we need a change or just to see what's out there. If anyone is interested, I'll be answering questions at a Town Hall Style Meeting this Thursday for the National School Choice Week down in San Juan Capistrano. Here's the link... School Choice Week TM : )
It is the end of a long Monday and I'm pooped! I know that the kids and I got plenty of work done, but sometimes it seems like I ask myself, "What did we do today?" So just a reminder for you and myself, let's go over the list...
1. We got up, had coffee and hugged the children. Not necessarily in that order. 2. With our beds made (does throwing the pillows to the head of the bed count?), we were ready for our learning by 9am. Well, most of us were. 3. Music, science, handwriting, Scholastic News, literature, and giggling about a silly joke was done by one child or the other. 4. Lunch break! : ) 5. Finish up our to do list. Not much left, but crossing stuff off sure feels good. 6. End the day with kids doing taekwondo and me rushing to Trader Joe's with another list while they're in class. 7. Dinner, baths, bed, more hugs and kisses... lights out. 8. Oh my gosh... breathe! Put our feet up, know that we had a full day and be thankful that we did what we did. The kids are healthy, growing, and thriving. Isn't that what it's all about? Whatever your list looks like, you did it, you finished, what an accomplishment! TM : ) I dedicate this post to all of you hard working homeschool Moms (and Dads). You are not forgotten and I know that you are doing the best you can at raising a family, and teaching your children to be the best at something they love. It is not an easy job. Keep going, keep breathing and know that you are appreciated!
Have a wonderful and relaxing weekend! TM : ) I'd like to thank you all for your kind words in the form of comments. I so appreciate when you do... it inspires me. I have always had an open door policy, meaning I've made it very easy to leave comments, but can you believe it? I'm getting SPAM or I guess you can say, "junk mail," or maybe a crank phone call? Okay, I guess not the last. So for now, until this SPAMMer goes away to play with someone else, I have to approve all comments.
Keep doing what you do, you know... teaching your kids to be smart, love what they do, and be creative in how you deal with obstacles! TM : ) I completely forgot. My kids reminded me last night, "There's no school tomorrow!" What? No school? Really? Yep, no school. But that didn't keep me from at least showing this short video and having a conversation about the importance of that speech 48 years ago... TM : ) P.S. This is not the full speech, just highlights... |
